My name is Yas Tiry and I am a lawyer in the Administrative Law and Commercial Litigation departments.
After completing a commerce degree and graduate diploma of education I became a secondary school teacher. I then found my way to the law, undertook a law degree, and here I am today!
Prior to joining Wisewould Mahony in early 2018, I gained valuable experience practising in dispute resolution and litigation within a regional law firm.
I greatly value contributing to the community and enjoy devoting time to volunteering within community legal centres and committees.
In practise, I cut away the ‘legal jargon’ and provide a straight forward approach to what can be complex legal scenarios. I focus on delivering sound legal advice to the firm’s clients in a personable down-to-earth manner. The best possible outcomes are achieved by building positive relationships and having a solid understanding of clients industries.
What I enjoy the most about being a lawyer is problem solving and advocacy. I thoroughly enjoy attending Courts and Tribunals, all the while guiding clients throughout the process.
The best thing about working at Wisewould Mahony is the great firm culture. The firm places a strong importance on being able to bring your whole self to work – no strings attached. I think this is reflected by the excellent legal work the team does and the successful outcomes achieved for clients.
Most importantly, I support the greatest team of all… Go Cats!
